Rental Agreement Terms
This Rental Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between EziGo Rentals ("Lessor") and the person signing this agreement ("Renter") for the rental of the motor vehicle described herein.
1. Vehicle Condition
The Renter acknowledges that:
- The vehicle has been inspected and is in good working condition
- All existing damage has been documented on the vehicle inspection report
- The vehicle is clean and has a full tank of fuel
- The Renter is responsible for the vehicle from the time of pickup until return
2. Authorized Drivers
Only the following persons are authorized to drive the vehicle:
- The named Renter on this agreement
- Additional drivers listed and approved on this agreement
- The Renter's spouse (if meeting eligibility requirements)
All authorized drivers must meet age and licensing requirements and be present at pickup with valid ID and driver's license.
3. Rental Period
- The rental period begins at the pickup time and date specified
- The vehicle must be returned by the return time and date specified
- Late returns incur additional charges
- Extensions must be authorized by EziGo Rentals in advance
4. Geographic Restrictions
The vehicle may be driven:
- Within Tasmania on sealed roads
- Not on beaches, unsealed roads (unless 4WD authorized)
- Not outside Tasmania without written permission
- Not in any area prohibited by law or insurance
5. Prohibited Uses
The Renter agrees NOT to:
- Use the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Allow unauthorized drivers to operate the vehicle
- Use the vehicle for racing, towing, or testing
- Use the vehicle for illegal purposes
- Smoke in the vehicle (cleaning fee applies)
- Transport pets without prior approval
- Overload the vehicle beyond its capacity
6. Renter's Responsibilities
The Renter is responsible for:
- All traffic violations and parking fines
- Loss or damage to the vehicle during the rental period
- Maintaining proper fluid levels (oil, coolant, etc.)
- Using the correct fuel type
- Securing the vehicle when unattended
- Reporting any accidents or damage immediately
- Returning the vehicle clean and with a full tank
7. Accidents and Damage
In the event of an accident, the Renter must:
- Contact police immediately if required by law
- Notify EziGo Rentals within 24 hours
- Not admit liability or fault
- Obtain details of all parties involved
- Complete an accident report form
- Not authorize repairs without EziGo approval
8. Charges and Fees
The Renter agrees to pay:
- The daily rental rate as quoted
- Additional driver fees (if applicable)
- Optional extras (GPS, child seats, etc.)
- Fuel charges if not returned full
- Cleaning fees for excessive dirt or smoking
- Damage costs exceeding insurance coverage
- Late return fees
- Traffic violations and tolls
9. Security Deposit
A security deposit will be held on your credit card. This amount will be released upon satisfactory return of the vehicle, typically within 7-14 business days. The deposit may be used to cover any outstanding charges.
10. Breakdown Assistance
24/7 roadside assistance is provided. Contact details are in the vehicle documentation. The Renter must not arrange repairs without authorization from EziGo Rentals except in emergency situations.
11. Personal Belongings
EziGo Rentals is not responsible for any personal belongings left in the vehicle. Please check the vehicle thoroughly before returning.
12. Agreement Acknowledgment
By completing your rental booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions of this Rental Agreement.
